Misao was on cloud nine. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Aoshi was proposing to her! //Finally, my dream is coming true!// "Yes, yes!" she cried throwing her hands around his neck and pressing her lips against his. Ten minutes later... "So where do you want to go on the honeymoon?" asked Misao, laying her head on Aoshi's shoulder and running her fingers though his long hair. She was so glad he had decided to grow it out. "China sounds good." "China?" "What's wrong with China?" "Nothing, but why do you want to go?" "They have some nice springs." "Really?" "Yes, like Jusenkyo." "Jusenkyo?" Misao gave Aoshi a funny look. //Is it just me or is Aoshi acting a little odd?// Aoshi sighed. He had managed to keep his little secret from Misao for all these years. But now, he really should tell her. After all, they were going to be married. "Misao, there's something you should know about me." Misao grew very serious. "What do you mean?" Aoshi took a deep breath. "I have an...*ahem*...condition." Misao's eyes widened. "Are you ill?" she asked, alarmed. "Not quite." "Then what?" Aoshi sighed again. This isn't going to be easy. "Do you remember an onmitsu named Kumiko?" he asked finally. Misao nodded. "Yeah, she was Okon and Omasu's friend wasn't she?" She laughed slightly. "I remember she looked a lot like yo..." Misao gasped. "Please tell me that was your sister." Aoshi grimly shook his head. "That was you?" Aoshi grimly nodded. "You were a crossdresser?!?!" "Actually," said Aoshi quietly. "It's a bit more complicated." Misao's eyes widened even more, it that was possible. "You mean, you...you...you..." She fainted. "This isn't going well," mutter Aoshi. Just then, Okon opened the door. She was carring a pitcher of water. "I though I heard Misao yelling," she saw Misao sprawled out on the floor. "Goodness, what happen?" "I was trying to tell Misao about my, um, situation." Okon looked from Aoshi, to the unconscious Misao, and back to Aoshi. "I take it things aren't going well." "I'm working on it." Okon sighed and handed Aoshi the pitcher. "Here, wake her up," she said. "As much as I'd love to see the rest of this, I need to finish up on the kitchen." When Okon left, Aoshi sprinkled some water on Misao's face. "Misao, Misao wake up." Misao's eyes fluttered open. "Aoshi," she said in a dazed voice. "I just had the weirdest dream. You proposed and then told me you were a crossdresser." "It's not what you think, Misao," replied Aoshi. "It wasn't a dream?!?" Misao was a bit torn. Aoshi had finally proposed to her and she thrilled about that, but then there was that confession. She moaned loudly and gripped her head. "Misao, please calm down and let me explain," pleaded Aoshi. "How can you explain something like this?" Aoshi took a deep breath. "Fourteen years ago I fell in a vat of water from the Pool of Drowned Girl. As a result, I turned into a girl when splashed with cold water. Both your grandfather and I sent many oniwabanshuu agents to China to search for the Pool of Drowned Man but nobody has ever found it. I recently got some information about the where abouts of the pool and I want to got to Jusenkyo so I can finally be cured." Aoshi had spoken rapidly so as to avoid any interruptions. Misao stared at him for a long while. "Misao?" She didn't answer. She simply picked up the pitcher and threw the contents on Aoshi. "Was that really necessary?" asked the female Aoshi in a monotone voice. "I wanted to see it with my own eyes," replied Misao in and equally flat voice. Misao looked over the purple haired person sitting across from her. She leaned forward, open the top of Aoshi yukata and immediately closed it. There was a long moment of silence. The calm before the storm. "I DON'T BELIEVE IT!" exclaimed Misao. "The man I love is a woman and to make things worse, he prettier than me!" "Now, Misao, calm down." Misao grabbed the collar of Aoshi's yukata and began shaking him violently. "How do you change it back!? HOW DO YOU CHANGE IT BACK!?" "Warm water! Warm water!" Misao released Aoshi and quickly dashed out of the room. Aoshi straightened up and rearranged his yukata. He had learned to be discreet when in his alternate form. "Well, if it isn't Kumiko. Long time no see." Aoshi looked up to see Okon standing at the door. "How have you been, Kumiko?" "Will you stop calling me that?" "That's what you went by." "Only when I was undercover." Okon smiled. "But it's such a pretty name." Aoshi glared at her. "Okay, okay, I'll stop!" Okon looked in the direction that Misao had taken off. "From the looks of things, Misao didn't take it very well." Aoshi sighed. "Actually, she took it better that I thought." They heard some pots and pans crashing in the kitchen. "Oh, I just cleaned it," said Okon, running to make sure Misao didn't completely destroy the kitchen. No more than fifteen minutes later, Aoshi was male again and Misao couldn't be happier. "So who all knew about this?" she asked him. "Your grandfather and Okina, of course, Okon and Omasu, Shiro and Kuro..." "So basicly everybody but me." Aoshi frowned. "You were quite young when it happened." "I know, I know," said Misao, dismissing it with a wave of her hand. The was a short pause. "Aoshi?" "Yes?" "When you become a women...do you become all woman?" Aoshi shuddered at the question. "Misao, I assure you, I'm still the same person only in a different form." Misao sighed with relif. "Good, I didn't like the idea of you going after men." Aoshi turned green as he remebered how many men went after him. "So you still want to marry me?" asked Aoshi. "You're alright with this?" "The hell I am!" exclaimed Misao. "But I'll still marry you. And you'd best get packing." "Packing?" "Yep, we're going to Jusenkyo. NOW!" End ----- Ah, the craziness of it all. So did Aoshi and Misao finally find the Pool of Drowned Man? Maybe, maybe not (hehehe).
