Old News

This is simply a page where old tidbits of news/happenings/etc are stored after they "scroll" off of my main pages.  I keep them for sentimental (or even strictly archival) purposes.

[7/30/00]  Many times I've watched silently as those from international communities get online and bash the USA for a host of ills (real or imagined).  This article is the first international commentary that I have encountered which puts the United States of America in a positive light.  Many thanks to the Canadian commentator Gordon Sinclair for showing me that not everyone outside the US is a potential hatemonger.

American Diabetes AssociationAmerican Diabetes Association mission statement

[6/20/00]  I've recently been diagnosed with Type-II Diabetes and it has forced me to undergo a fundamental change in how I live my life.  For more information on this disease and to see if you may be suffering from it, visit the American Diabetes Association's website for details.

Nekocon 3: Where the future is meow!

[5/23/00] Now that Anime Central is over, my next stop is NekoCon in Virginia Beach, VA.  Follow the link for the full schedule and all that jazz.  NekoCon is the brainchild of Larry Drews and Tom Cardwell, both longtime alum of Katsucon which used to be hosted in Virginia Beach.   VA Beach was where I attended my first anime convention, and I've always enjoyed 'conning there.  Be there!  October 27-29, 2000.

animecentral. The 'con of the midwest

[11/15/99] Now that Neko-con is over, my next stop is Anime Central.  Follow the link for the full schedule and all that jazz.  ACEN has never failed to impress me with its professionalism and richness of content.   I recommend going to this one!  May 12 - 14, 2000 in Chicago.

kicon.jpg (16879 bytes)[7/7/99] I'm officially going to be attending (Read: I have the money to travel ^_^;) Neko-con in November.  Follow the link for the full schedule and all that jazz.  It's going to be the last (in the USA) anime 'con of the 1900's, so I plan to go!

[8/31/99] If you have an MP3 player, listen to how famous Baltimore Orioles baseball manager Earl Weaver used to talk on the radio!

John Holliman Obit.[9/12/98] Cable News Network lost one of its best and brightest when veteran reporter John Holliman was killed in a car crash.  The news industry has lost a legend, and I doubt that he can ever be equalled or surpassed.  My heart goes out to his family, who lost a father and husband.

[7/16/98] Attention Robotech Fans!   A convention hosting the gathering of all Robotech voice actors, producers, and directors will be happening in October of 2000.  Hit this link (Robocon '99) for more information!  THIS IS NOT A HOAX!

[7/13/98] - The people from Anime Impressions have requested that I grant access for them to use Careful Destiny to create a RealAudio "Radio Play"  They specialize in dramatizing fanfiction, and have a small library of RealAudio files already compiled.  They're casting for roles now.  Just follow this link (http://members.tripod.com/~impression98/Ranma.html) to learn more about the project and find out what parts are still available.
